Umay Rest was developed by a Canadian optometrist and company in an effort to combat dry eye and digital eye strain.   It is a science-based technology that not only helps with dry eye, but improves your sleep patterns, by combining the sciences of warming and cooling, and mindful breathing.  This improves your tears and sleep at the same time.  

The reality is that while digital devices have allowed us to remain connected, entertained, and working in unprecedented times, there are many negative side effects caused by them.  These devices lead to dry and irritated eyes, poor sleep cycles and neck pain, and have a negative impact on our mental health. 

It is because of these negative impacts that Rest was born.  This device is a lightweight and rechargeable, lithium battery powered mask that rests across the eyes and delivers heating and cooling cycles to help fatigued eyes recover.  The cooling cycle helps stimulate tear production, but also soothes irritation associated with allergies.  The heat maintains an optimal temperature to help treat a major cause of dry eye disease, called meibomian gland dysfunction.   It also helps to relax the muscles around the eyes, which helps prevent further eye strain.
